At the ceremony, Mr. Le Quang Long, Director of Organization and Personnel Department of EVN announced Decision No. 299/QD-EVN dated November 22, 2018 of Viet Nam Electricity on the establishment of EVN Power Service Center and decisions on appointing leaders of the center.
Mr. Hoang Trong Nam, Former Director of Son La Hydropower Company, was appointed as Director of EVNPSC.
Deputy Directors of the Center include: Mr. Bui Cong Luan - Former Deputy Director of EVN’s General Affairs Department; Mr. Phan Dinh Hoa - Former Deputy Director of Hoa Binh Hydropower Company; Mr. Nguyen Minh Khu - Former Deputy Director of Se San Hydropower Development Company.
The appointment decisions have come into effect since December 15, 2018.

Chairman of EVN’s Board of Directors Duong Quang Thanh said: EVNPSC is established under the policy of EVN on separation of operation and maintenance service functions of multi-purpose hydropower plants under EVN; establishing a power service organization to repair power plants under the parent company - EVN. The establishment of EVNPSC is in the roadmap of rearranging and restructuring enterprises under EVN in the period of 2017 - 2020, which has been approved by the Prime Minister.
According to the orientation of EVN, EVNPSC will provide professional maintenance services for power plants in and outside EVN; become a brand name with a leading competitiveness. At the same time, it will optimize maintenance costs; manage and use capital and assets effectively and in compliance with current regulations.
In order to ensure EVNPSC's stable operation in the first time, it is important for EVNPSC and EVN’s dependent accounting hydropower companies to complete the transfer of personnel, materials and equipment, functions and tasks of maintenance. In particular, major maintenance works or overhaul works for which service suppliers have been selected and service contracts will be signed in the first quarter of 2019 must be handed over by hydropower companies to EVNPSC immediately. EVNPSC should prepare their manpower and take over these contracts gradually, so as not to affect implementation progresses of the contracts during the transfer process.
In the coming time, hydropower will accounts for a small proportion in the whole system, while thermal power and renewable energy will keep on rising. Therefore, the training and retraining for employees of EVN Power Service Center need to be strengthened in order to provide services for not only hydropower plants, but also thermal power and renewable energy plants.
